It is the ABSOLUTE best when I get to see my newborn clients back for their 1st Birthday Sessions! Joelle is such a joy to be around, full of smiles and giggles. Mom wanted a simple setup, which is always my favorite. We talked a bit back and forth and after looking through her inspiration, we nailed it! It does help to start planning your child’s First Birthday Session around their 6 Month mark. Quite a bit can go into making the setups so to be sure I can accommodate the theme you are looking for it’s best to reach out around then. My client wardrobe is full of outfits for First Birthday Sessions – some parents choose from it and other’s get their own outfit. For Joelle’s Session she is wearing a tieback headband from our closet but the skirt is one that her mom brought because she wanted to 🙂

Joelle started in on her cake, we had the best time! I couldn’t wipe the smile off of my face behind the lens. From her nose squishes to the biggest smiles a photographer could ever hope and ask for. We didn’t even have to chase her too much and she stayed interested in the sugar rush in front of her.

Getting messy wasn’t an issue for this little princess. She was all in! Joelle’s mom, Adelyn got this cute little cake from The Baker’s Bar in Jackson, Missouri. Super simple and cute.

Most parents would like their babies session done a little bit before their First Birthday so that they can have the photos to post on social media and their birthday party, which is another reason why it’s so important to reach out around the 6 month mark.
